Gains On Losses

23 Apr 2009 - 16 May 2009
Enjoy Gallery, Wellington

Gains On Losses was a continuation of an intervention project which has no title. It is a very simple project where screens of semi-transparent butter paper are constructed and installed over window bays of a given space. The work has been installed in four shows, Dance Baby, PGDipFA, Slow Motions, and Gains On Losses

An artist talk was held in the space on the evening of the opening, during which time the space went from a soft white to a murky purple and then to blue. During the talk I performed Gabriel Orozco's Estella which can be seen on the wall to the left of the screen.

The space was opened up to other activities during the period of the exhibition, including:
Hue & Cry Issue Three launch party, with readings by Airini Beautrais, Bill Nelson, John Summers.
A Performance by Raised by Wolves.
A Greg Malcolm musical set and a corresponding light installation by Peter Trevelyan. As a part of the White Fungus Relocation Party.
Native American contemporary artist James Luna public talk.
